On Tuesday September 30, the Class of 2027 was privileged to have a visit from Ms. Kandyia Rivera from the Delegate to Congress, Stacey Plaskett’s office to inform them about the U.S. Military Academies. Ms. Rivera, a veteran of the U.S. Army and now the V.I. Field Representative for the Delegate’s office, spoke to the students about the 5 different academies, the nomination process for the 4 requiring a nomination (U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not) and the nomination interview. Ms. Rivera alerted the students to the opportunity for attending the academy summer programs, which give interested students a chance to experience academy life. More information about the U.S. Military Academies will be shared in the third trimester in Junior College Prep class.
