As part of Fire Safety Week, members of the St. Croix Fire Department visited GHCDS to teach our nursery, kindergarten, and first-grade students about fire safety. Deputy Inspector Otto, Lynch, Gumbs, and Ferrance, engaged the children with important lessons on what to do in case of a fire and how firefighters keep us safe.
Firefighters Pitts, Greene, and Martinez supervised as the students explored two big fire trucks, learning about the equipment each firefighter uses and wears on the job. Each child even got a turn spraying the hose and sounding the siren, making it a truly memorable experience!
A big thank you to Ms. Lake for organizing this annual visit, and to the VI Fire Department for making fire safety both educational and fun. This hands-on experience is one our students will remember for years to come!
