Good Hope Country Day School is an independent, multicultural, college preparatory educational community set on a 35-acre tropical campus. Our vibrant learning environment features comfortable classrooms and common spaces that are integrated with the lush tropical surroundings, creating a peaceful destination for learning and growth. Our campus is centrally located on St. Croix for convenient access to all that island living has to offer. We welcome international exchange students in grades 9-12 to join us for one semester or for long-term stays.
Students are housed with local families, facilitating deep integration into both the Good Hope Country Day School and wider St. Croix communities. We strive to place students with families that are connected to and involved in the tight-knit St. Croix community in order to help ease the students’ transition into island life. Host families will provide breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner for students.
We cultivate reflective, creative, and compassionate students who are critical thinkers prepared to excel in college and empowered to better their island and the world. We offer a balanced curriculum that includes rigorous academic, fine arts and athletic programs as well as many hands-on experiences which take advantage of the island’s rich history, cultural diversity, and pristine beauty.
International students are supported by an on campus international student coordinator and provided individualized ESL preparation for academic study and test preparation. 99% of GHCDS students are accepted to a four-year college or university and international students are provided comprehensive college counseling and guidance.
We currently offer six AP classes in our upper school:
