Hi Panther Families!
As we roll into Spring Break, the Athletic Department wants to wish all our athletes and families a safe and restful break. It might be a good idea to grab some jump ropes (or make one!), a bouncy ball and maybe even a hula hoop to keep your Panthers active during the break. In my opinion, no athlete is too old for four square, jumping rope or hooping! It’s good fun for all!
Thank you, Sylvia Schindler, for taking our High School Sailors to Tampa last weekend! The GHCDS Varsity Sailing Team traveled to Tampa Florida this past weekend to compete in the South Points #7 regatta held at Davis Island Yacht Club. It was a great day for sailboat racing with the wind blowing steadily from the north east between 12 and 18 knots. The marks never needed to be reset and the races went as quickly and smoothly as possible. Twenty three teams participated across both varsity and junior varsity. Each team participated in 6 races per division, all on 420 class boats. Thanks to the Davis Island YC for a fantastic event! Our GHCDS Varsity team sailing in A division- skipper JJ Klempen, crew Elyssa Franklin and B division- skipper Milo Miller and crew Brielle Schindler did a great job staying competitive in this very challenging Varsity fleet, finishing 11th overall! Go Panthers!
