This Week in Sports

Hi Panther Families!

We are wishing our first Elementary Lady Panthers soccer team good luck in championships today! They have had such a fun and competitive season! Many thanks to Coach Felicia Farrante and Coach Chris Floyd for doing such a great job teaching and inspiring our athletes.

Volleyball and flag football players should have their jerseys washed and returned to the Athletic Department. If your athlete has not yet done so, please give him or her a nudge. The fine for lost or unreturned jerseys is $75.00. It’s rare that we have to apply it, but we do! Our PE Snack Bar, which is run by volunteers, supports all our uniform purchases. We work very hard to keep our Panthers well dressed, and we can’t take that for granted. Thanks for helping!

It’s time for preseason basketball! We had so many students sign our interest sheets that may need more coaches! If you are interested, and have time on weekdays between the hours of 3:00 and 5:30, please let us know. Next week we will be determining teams and placement. If your athlete is interested, but did not sign an interest sheet, please email acarter@ghcds.org. After next week it will be too late to join the fun! Practice schedules are listed below.

Best of luck to our sailors traveling to Sarasota this weekend! Milo Miller, Lucia Bishop, Elyssa Franklin, Ariana Schwartz and Brielle Schindler, we’re cheering for you!

We were so fortunate to have two of the top pro triathletes come to our track and field training on Wednesday. Having Tim O’Donnell and Mirinda Carfrae share their wisdom and experience was a real treat!  Thank you, Coach Harper, for inviting them, and for providing this opportunity to our athletes!
