GHCDS Second graders had a fantastic first week of school! They reconnected through Morning Meeting activities, made new friends, and shared their summer adventures. As they settled into their classroom, they brainstormed the start of our Classroom Charter—a published promise to use kind words and actions for the best school year ever. We celebrated our first classroom birthday too—happy birthday, Angelica Belt!
In math, students got creative by making their own travel number racks to solve sums and differences up to 20. They also honed their scientific skills by observing everyday objects and asking questions like true scientists. It’s been an amazing start to the year!
