Good Hope Country Day School Panthers dominated the VI Track & Field Federation’s Labor Day 5K race! Out of 38 participants, our Panthers stood out, with 7 GHCDS cross country team members, one faculty member, a Panther parent, and our cross country coach all earning medals.
A special thank you to Coach Theresa Harper and Coach Bridget Klein for leading such a strong and competitive running program at GHCDS. We also extend our gratitude to the VI Track & Field Federation for hosting this fantastic community event.

The Labor Day 5K on St Croix on September 2nd at 6 am in the morning had a dry start, rainy middle, and an overcast finish. The 3.1-mile run event was held on a point-to-point course where the start was at Southgate and the finish at the fort in Christiansted. The Labor Day race saw 38 participants.
Congrats to overall winner Ayden Cintron, an 11th grade student at Good Hope Country Day, Cintron had a blazing time of 17:55. His teammate from the Panthers Cross Country team Nathan Langley was second in 18:08. Rounding out the podium was another Panther runner, Thomas Crikelair in a time of 18:55.
The run coach of the top three finishers, Bridget Klein, was the top female finisher in a time of 19:40. Julie Sommer was second in 24:20, and Megan Mault finished in third with a time of 24:27.
In the U18 category, Vedant Mittal was first (20:01), Cole Cullinan was second (20:09) and Nick Crikelair was third (20:11).
Olivia Crikelair gave a great run as the sole U18 female participant and crossed the line in 25:19.

The Cross Country season in St. Croix will start on Wednesday September 18 on the Cross Country Course in Negro Bay.
