Good Hope Country Day School Art Class: Exploring Texture through Touch
In a hands-on lesson about texture, GHCDS art students participated in a creative activity designed to sharpen their senses and drawing skills. Each student received a mystery bag containing three different objects and was challenged to explore their shapes and textures by touch alone—no peeking allowed! As they felt and discussed the various forms, many students were able to guess what some of the objects were. At the end of the exercise, they eagerly opened their bags to see if their senses had guided them correctly. This engaging activity helped deepen their understanding of how to draw texture by focusing on tactile perception.
