As the culminating activity of our Animal Adventures Science unit, Good Hope Country Day School 2nd graders took on the challenge of exploring which types of birds are most likely to visit a bird feeder based on their diet, while also learning how to protect both the birds and their seeds from predators.
Students began by designing bird feeders tailored to attract a specific bird species. They then brought their designs to life by building prototypes using available materials, combining creativity with scientific principles in this hands-on project.
