“We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other. If you are always there for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you.” – Jeff Warner
Since the start of the 2024-2025 school year, the Class of 2027 (10th grade) has been deeply engaged in bake sales, fundraisers, and events within our Good Hope Country Day School community. These efforts not only improve the lives of 10th graders and fellow students but also strengthen bonds, foster mutual support, and reflect the school’s core values of Integrity, Respect, Citizenship, and Scholarship.
Each day, members of our GHCDS community live by our school mantra:
“Our island is our classroom, the world is our responsibility.”
Inspired by these words, the 10th grade has embraced a new initiative to extend their impact beyond our school community. With a renewed commitment to building meaningful connections with organizations island wide, they are planting the seeds of community enrichment.
The first step in this endeavor takes place on December 17th, as the Class of 2027 donates essential goods and necessities to the Lighthouse Mission, a non-profit organization in downtown Christiansted that tirelessly supports the homeless with meals and personal care services.
We invite you to join us in supporting this effort by contributing to the Holiday Bake Sale on Thursday, December 19th, which will help fund this impactful initiative.
As the Class of 2027 beautifully puts it:
“Like a sunrise, this model aims to enrich lives and communities with warmth, compassion, and citizenship, shining the light and creativity of our students into places of need island wide.”
Let’s come together to nurture this vision and support our 10th graders in their mission to make a meaningful difference.
