After weeks of thoughtful planning and coordination, the 10th-grade Class of 2027 brought their vision to life on Tuesday, December 17th, as they took the first step in their community enrichment initiative.
On this day, the 10th graders donated essential goods and necessities to the Lighthouse Mission, a remarkable non-profit organization in downtown Christiansted. The Lighthouse Mission tirelessly supports St. Croix’s homeless population with meals, personal care, and support services.
Working with such an impactful and compassionate organization was a heartwarming experience for the students. They were deeply moved by the gratitude and words of appreciation shared by the Lighthouse Mission’s director, Cornelius Evans, and its dedicated team. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of giving back and the difference a single act of kindness can make.
Special thanks go to the diligent Class Government Members for their leadership and effort in making this initiative a success:
- Nick Crikelair (Class President)
- Peyton Schindler (Vice President)
- Kimaya Jackson (Secretary)
- Cameron Cullinan (Treasurer)
A big shoutout also to the class’s newly appointed Media Manager, Saidah Banwaree, for beautifully capturing and participating in this memorable event.
This initiative was supported by the success of the Holiday Bake Sale, held on Thursday. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this effort!
The Class of 2027 looks forward to building more meaningful community relationships and continuing to make a positive impact in the future.
