At Good Hope Country Day School, our Reading Buddies Program is a cherished tradition that fosters a love of reading, builds confidence, and strengthens bonds between our youngest and older students. Each year, we pair enthusiastic first-grade Panthers with supportive sixth-grade Panthers, creating a unique opportunity for learning and mentorship.
On Thursday, the magic of Reading Buddies officially began for the school year! During their first session, students introduced themselves, shared stories about their interests, and read a few books together.
This program is more than just reading—it's about connection. For first graders, it provides encouragement, boosts literacy skills, and offers a chance to look up to a positive role model. For sixth graders, it instills leadership, empathy, and the joy of helping others succeed.
