Exciting Start to 2025 for 2nd Grade at Good Hope Country Day School!

The 2nd grade is off to an incredible start this year, diving into engaging activities and meaningful learning experiences!

  • We’ve reconnected as a class through Morning Meeting activities, fostering teamwork, communication, and a sense of community.
  • In math, students are exploring the power of adding and subtracting on an open number line, building confidence and problem-solving skills.
  • The excitement continues with the return of our 6th-grade reading buddy program, where younger and older students bond over shared stories and build a love of reading together.

As part of our social studies and cultural learning, students have been learning about the remarkable legacy of Martin Luther King Jr., whose leadership paved the way for equal rights and inspired generations.

We’ve also begun our exploration of the Chinese New Year, a rich and colorful celebration of tradition and culture. 2nd graders are preparing to share what they’ve learned with the school community during Friday Gathering on January 31st. This year, we’re celebrating the Year of the Snake, and we can’t wait to see their proud presentation!
