Kindergarteners Celebrate Peruvian Culture with Llamas in Spanish Class

In Spanish class at Good Hope Country Day School, our Kindergarteners embarked on a fun and enriching journey to explore the culture of Peru. Their adventure focused on the llama, a beloved symbol of the Andes and an essential part of daily life in the region.

Students learned how llamas provide not only wool for clothing but also serve as reliable means of transportation in mountainous terrain. To bring this cultural lesson to life, the Kindergarteners tapped into their creativity by decorating their own llamas with colorful strings and vibrant patterns, inspired by the beautiful adornments traditionally seen in Peru.

The highlight of the activity was when they worked together to create a stunning llama garland, now proudly displayed in their classroom. This beautiful creation not only showcases their creativity but also serves as a reminder of their growing knowledge and appreciation of Peruvian culture.

Bravo to our young explorers for their creativity and curiosity—what a fun and meaningful way to connect with the world!
