AgFair 2025: A Huge Success for GHCDS!

Last weekend’s Agriculture & Food Fair was an incredible experience, and GHCDS showed up in full force!

Congratulations to Mrs. Cole, Ms. Banwaree, and all the teachers and students who worked tirelessly to design, build, and showcase our stunning booth, which placed 2nd in the K-12 schools category! So many visitors stopped by to compliment the creativity and craftsmanship on display, and the eye-catching fountain centerpiece—engineered by Liam & Jacob Daley—was a true showstopper!

Special shoutout to Ms. Banwaree, Ms. Farquhar, seniors Marty Gant and Sierra Franklin, and 8th grader Max Keularts, who organized the student projects during Mini-Gusto. Thank you to the admin, teachers, and parents who helped greet visitors at our booth throughout the weekend!

Farm Animal Frenzy & 4H Club Success

Marty Gant led a group of students to create an impressive Senepol cow for the Farm Animal Frenzy display in the livestock pavilion.

The GHCDS 4H Club set up a booth featuring local farm animals, with members Elijah Parris, Sophia Hamed, and Frankie Mustafa doing a fantastic job presenting to the judges. Their booth placed 3rd in the “Youth Activities” category!

Petting Zoo & Beyond

GHCDS students and teachers provided 55% of the workforce at the popular petting zoo, ensuring a safe and fun experience for both children and animals. Many students also helped at the Children’s Museum tent, contributing to hands-on activities and interactive exhibits.

Creative Contributions

4th & 12th graders entered the essay contest, while 5th graders wrote poems and Ella Evora created a beautiful poster—though judging was still pending before the fair. We’re excited to hear the results!

Moko Jumbies & Animal Entries

Tom the Turkey didn’t place this year, but a litter of bunnies from Mrs. Cole’s farm earned 3rd place!
Zavier Saleem wowed the crowd on stilts as part of the Guardians of Culture Moko Jumbies, celebrating our island’s rich cultural heritage.

A huge THANK YOU to every student, teacher, and volunteer who contributed to this amazing event. Your hard work, creativity, and community spirit truly made GHCDS shine!
