GHCDS Welcomes Future Panthers for Shadow Day!

On Friday, March 14th, the Lower Division welcomed seven visiting students, ranging from 1st to 4th grade, for GHCDS Shadow Day—an opportunity to experience a day in the life of a Panther!

The day began in the Pavilion, where students and parents joined our Lower School Friday Gathering. Highlights included:

  • A 6th-grade presentation on their weeklong adventure aboard the Denis Sullivan
  • Recognition of STEM Fair award winners
  • A celebration of March birthdays

Afterward, our visiting students were paired with their host classes and fully immersed in a typical school day—engaging in Morning Meeting, math, science, and language arts, while also enjoying special subjects like Computer, Art, P.E., Spanish, and Music. Of course, no GHCDS day would be complete without recess on the Slab!

Meanwhile, their parents gathered in the Library for coffee, conversation, and Q&A sessions with teachers and administration.

Despite a rainy morning, our guests and GHCDS students alike shared a wonderful, memorable day filled with learning, laughter, and new friendships. We look forward to welcoming them back soon!
