Our Youngest Panthers Learn About Ramadan!

This week, our Early Learning Center students took a joyful journey into learning about Ramadan, the Islamic month of reflection, kindness, and community. Through stories, educational videos, and songs, our Nursery and Pre-K Panthers explored the meaning and traditions of this special time of year.

A big thank you to Isa for sharing his own experiences celebrating Ramadan with his classmates—your voice made it extra special! We’re also so grateful to Mrs. Abdallah (Najeh’s mom) and Mrs. Yusuf (Eleen’s mom) for their warm and engaging presentation about Ramadan and Eid.

The children especially enjoyed learning that:

  • Ramadan follows the lunar calendar, so it begins when the new moon appears!
  • Many families fast from sunrise to sunset to practice self-discipline and gratitude.
  • It’s a time for giving to others, being kind, and spending time with family.
  • The celebration at the end of Ramadan is called Eid al-Fitr, or the “Festival of Breaking the Fast,” and it’s filled with feasting, new clothes, and gift-giving!

To top it all off, students created beautiful moon and star crafts—symbols of Ramadan—reflecting both their creativity and what they learned.

We’re so proud of our curious, caring learners and their growing understanding of cultures and traditions from around the world!
